I'm having the exact same frustration. Citi has been sitting on our $20k check for 3 weeks while my contractor and I continue to jump through hoops to release the check. State Farm was quick and painless in cutting us the check, the contractor's been great, but now the work's been done for days and we still don't have a penny because these slimeballs at Citi keep coming up with more requirements. I would think at this point an inspection and Certificate of Completion would suffice. The latest is that they need us to resend the original contract because it was not signed by both parties. This is a joke because the work is done....clearly. These people are disgusting.
I understand that Citi has alot invested in my home, but it's now clear that we've fixed 100% of the damage. It's unbelievable that they can be so greedy. Scum of the earth.

CitiMortgage Mounts Shock and Awe Campaign against Baffled Home Owner

I bank by Internet and on my last mortgage payment to CitiMortgage made an entry mistake- I placed a zero where a one should have been, underpaying the mortgage payment by $100. I did not notice the mistake and by bank notified me the payment had been received. Much to my surprise a few days latter I became the blunt of CitiMortgage's Shock and Awe Campaign. A campaign clearly structured to intimidate, threaten (your credit score will be damaged) and quite frankly bludgeoned one into compliances with their wishes. Over the last three days I received a minimum of 12 intimidating, automated phone calls that demanded payment of the full monthly payment (remember I paid all but $100), and provided no access to a live agent.

I believe CitiMortgage must be on auto pilot. There is certainly provided me with no consumer service when I called. The person answering the call again said I owed the full payment, now plus penalty and it was only after I pointed out I had verification of payment that he admitted they had received payment but did not apply it as it was not the full amount. I asked, why did you not call me and say, we need another $100 to apply this to the loan? No good answer from the "customer service agent" (who as you must know is virtually impossible to reach). I said I will have a check to you by tomorrow, turn off your unnecessary attack dogs. They had my explanation yesterday, they now have the check, but Shock and Awe has not stopped.

Today, my wife received five more phone calls today. Once Shock and Awe is launched it can't be recalled. I looked on the CitiMortgage site for an "About" section. There is none, so I can't say much about their ethics or brand promise to consumers. All I found is the Citi never sleeps. Great news for those of us they throw their intimidating power against (my wife is having a fit). It is one thing to "intellectualize" about the plights of so many American's facing foreclosure and hardships. People who are receiving these calls, day after day, it is quite another thing to have CitiMortage's Shock and Awe Campaign directed at you. I don't know if you ever saw the classic 1976 film Network (it is rated one of the top ten movie scrips of all time), but I feel like the news announcer who in a rant, persuades his listeners to go to the window and shout out. "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" has the right answer. It is time to hold banks accountable and demand they approach the American consumer as the honest and hardworking families they are. CitiMortgage, please turn off you Shock and Awe Campaign against this Baffled Home Owner and other Americans.

I don't accede that it is irrelevant that you have chosen to take advantage of the system, while demanding another. Economic sense aside, your view rings hollow. You are factually incorrect with your statement: "But there is no legal requirement that employers offer coverage and there shouldn’t be" It is legally mandated for full and part-time employers in the state of Hawaii. Further, your opinion on salary adjustment vs. insurance coverage, enters into legal/discrimination territory. Can an an employer negatively adjust salary for a female because of maternity coverage and a young male positively due to probable lack of insurance use? I find this unlikely but I would presume you have a citation for your information. It would have been interesting to read the context of the jackanape's remarks. Do you have a link?

citimortgage has had one of my insurance checks for home repairs to endorse for for 9 months. They required all types of forms to be sent in. we filled out a few that applied but intended to make the majority of repairs ourself (my husbands profession)except roof that we will contract. We held on to the second check just in case to see how things flowed. then winter arrived and did not make any attempts to get the money sent to us. finally i called a couple weeks ago to make a phone payment and was directed to the division holding our money. I made my mortgage payment and the told the person they had no right to keep that money, that was paid by me & to my insurance company & advised her I would take other action. 2 days later a check was delivered to me by fed-ex for half the amount and a phone call made to me to see if i received the check. 1/2 i not enough for even the material for the roof. so i called them and the rep says to fax her bids or invocies or receipts.that where it stands today.will post more later

"...government entitlements isn’t going to save money in the long run, nor is forbidding malpractice reform going to lower costs incurred by healthcare providers" I often read that tort reform will lead to a reduction in the cost of medical care and wonder why people consider it to be a given. Texas tort reform has not lowered the cost of medical care for the consumer but it has had positive effects for physicians. We no longer have the problem of doctors leaving the state and have had an increase in practitioners. Unfortunately, the cost savings have not made any difference to the public. Our premiums have increased and according to "Robert Wood Johnson Foundation found that Texas ranked third among the states in health insurance premium increases — 40 percent — from 2001 to 2005. Small wonder that Texas continues to lead the nation in the percentage of residents — about one-fourth — without health insurance" I don't think the belief of tort reform = lower cost is dishonest but the reality is that it does not work.

I too have citimortgage to thank for total aggrevation. They knew 9 months ago I had a damage loss and never notified me of all their "required documents" until I presented the insurance check for their endorsement. My new roof is installed and paid for out of pocket. I filled out their forms except for the ones I felt did not apply to my situation. Their inspector came out and verified the job was complete. I even sent them a copy of my receipt from the roof contractor. Now they will not authorize check endorsement until I send in MORE forms. They want me to fill out their "Intent to make repairs" form. I don't intend to make repairs, they're already done and they have pictures to prove it. Also, they insist I complete a "loss summary worksheet". All that freaking information is on my insurance inspector/estimator's worksheet that I already sent citi. At least they're not making interest on the money because I won't give them the check. I was told a local citi rep could endorse it, but only after this stupid department with a check list gives permission. I really NEED the money from MY insurance policy that I don't escrow. I will take my business elsewhere too!!

Citimortgage is poorly run and routinely lose big money for their shareholders with apparently no consequences. I wouldn't take their stock for free. In a large number of my bankruptcy cases, they have screwed up the title issues on mobile homes on a mobile home/land deal, and instead of settling with a bankruptcy trustee to get him to go away for say $10k when he busts their lien, they just ignore the entire situation until they are forced to foreclose on empty land and then lose over $40k every single time. You and I and our kids will be paying them at gunpoint for the rest of our lives so they can do this over and over again due to the $45billion bailout of them and their parent company. Get a rope, I say.

[...] And here’s the rub with the individual mandate: yes indeed, paying income taxes is considered to be voluntary, but for tens of millions of people in this country, it’s voluntary only to the point where it’s also voluntary to go to work and get a paycheck. Yes, self-employed people (I’m ignoring corporations in this argument, because they aren’t applicable) have to actually write a check and have a little flexibility in deciding whether or not to write that check, but for millions of Americans, they pay their taxes every two weeks whether they want to or not. It’s called “payroll withholding” and it’s insidious. [...]
